Organised by BridgeSMEs, a European project supporting SMEs' go-to-market in Europe, the “Hack2Bridge” hackathon brought together many teams around various themes (drones, industrial maintenance…).
The DARYL team worked on the challenge of digitising the engine logbook proposed by an aerospace manufacturer with more than 50 years of unstructured data for aircraft maintenance tracking.
The system we built
The system built for the hackathon tests DARYL's ability to digitise handwritten documents and organise that data in a structured way, in a defined and interoperable format.
We presented our project to a jury of experts and demonstrated DARYL's capabilities by leveraging a VLM + OCR architecture that improves the reliability of information recognition and the ability to structure data in a constrained XML format (XSD schema).
Knowledge Graph and agentic architecture
We also showed that using an expert agentic model leveraging knowledge graphs and a domain ontology (products, domain) improves answer quality, both in time and in resources consumed.
Growth prize
The jury awarded us the “Growth” prize, along with a great opportunity to meet the project team at the aerospace manufacturer to continue DARYL's development in that field in 2026.
